Stats

Melynn vistited the doctor a while back & is growing like a weed! She weighs in at 21.9lbs & is between 31 & 32 inches tall! This is a long way from our little 6.5lbs one year ago! She is trying to talk & learn sign language. She's got the sign for milk down & has her own version of more. I think she sometimes says Thank you but its very similiar to blowing kisses so the jury is still out on that one.  In the language category we of course have "Da-da", "Momma" ( doesn't know who I am but can say it. Not to mention I think she calls her paci.."Momma". Awesome) There is "Uh-Oh", and shes trying to say "Milk", but its more of a "Mil"
She sprints all over the place & has seemed to develop some sort of go-go gadget baby arm thing where she can reach everything! Its crazy! She has no concept of "NO" so we're having fun with that & avoiding light sockets. Also the best part is that she is dancing! The music starts playing & her little booty starts a bopping! It is so cute. We laughed so hard the first time she did it!
Another funny thing about Melynn is that she is I guess afraid of grass......at least afraid to walk on it. She'll sit down in it & play with it...but will not walk in it. We put her down "standing up" & she freezes. Just stands there and doesn't budge an inch. She'll either stand there & cry or sit down & play with the grass. This one she's clearly ok I'll take some more & show you soon!.

Here are a few pictures from Melynn's Birthday weekend. My favorite is the tea party with Daddy. Its amazing what a man will do for his child & I didn't even provoke him! He is truly a great daddy! The pic where she is in the stroller will not happen again she got in & Andy decided to push her around in it...she looks very comfortable though. And she loves cards...I think she must see them as little books. Regardless she loves to tear the envelopes open & find the cards inside. She wanted to open the cards more than her gifts. Go figure.

Melynn's 1st Birthday!

As most of you know...bc some of you were here for the throw down we had........ Melynn's 1st Birthday was this past weekend. Nana Deb was gracious enough to let us use her clubhouse for our shindig. Melynn was in a great mood & dazzled everyone to the best of her ability. She received many gifts & we are reminded that we are so blessed to have such a wonderful loving immediate & extended family in our lives. Devon & I made 117 cupcakes ( yes we counted) & Aunt D made one gigantic cupcake for her niece to rip into even though I put so much icing on it she never quite reached the actual cake part. The pictures above are just a few from the great weekend we all had together. Melynn's 1 shirt is courtesy of Carey Haney ( Jitterberries) she does such wonderful work. You should google her & get your favorite little one a too cute happy to wear! She has a dress made by Carey too I'll post a pic of that one soon. The less than thrilled pic is before we gave her the cake, I just love her expression. Classic. The other pic is of her digging into her cake (icing) and leaning to the side I don't know what it is about that high chair but everytime she sits in it ( when we go to the Mannings) she does that. We go today for her check up & I'll give you all the stats on Miss Melynn soon. Until then I'll post a few more pics. Wish you all could have been here to celebrate but you were all on our minds! Love to you!

Just a little side note.....MELYNN IS WALKING! I'll post pics soon!

Melynn's 1st Snow!!

As most of you know we had around 4-5 inches of snow fall over a 24hr period this past weekend.  Despite being snowed in & Aunt D braving the weather for a Melynn fix we had a great weekend as you can tell from pictures above. Melynn was such a trooper never whimpering for a second.....but yet amazed at her mittens. Check out the pics & pay special attention to her hands she just holds them out in each one trying to figure out what to do with them.  In some of the first few pics we're in our neighborhood it was cloudy & windy so Devon & I bundled her up. She could barely move. In the last few pics we're at Sam's ( my father in law) house sledding on the hills he has on his property. Melynn & her Papaw watched us sled up & down the hill then they would come get us & take us back up. The pic of Jeff dusting her off was after she and her Daddy ate snow on a sled ride....she got a little ticked off with that one, but didn't let it bother her too much. We had soo much fun! In the last picture she's all tuckered out in her new big girl seat & yes she did have socks on she just took them off in the 2mins it took to get out of her Papaws driveway.
Enjoy! Only 18 more days till Melynn turns 1!!

Melynn is 11mths!

Well folks our baby girl just turned 11mths old on January 19th! I'm still surprised, shocked, & in disbelief that this year has flown by so quick...February 19th will be here before we know it & again I will share the same shock, disbelief, & surprise that I'm feeling right now probably along with some tears. Enough about me....

Melynn is weighing in at 20lbs 3 ozs & measuring 26inches & change. She is still eating a little baby food but more so focused on table food and loving every minute of it! She's drinking milk, water, & some formula still, but for the most part doing very well with her sippy cup. She loves her puffs, crackers, nilla wafers, yogurt snacks....there isn't too much she doesn't like right now. She's having some stomach issues but we're assuming its all diet related & the fact she's very regular anyway....ask the daycare ladies they are very well acquainted with it. Soooo embarrasing.

She is walking for the most part. Just tonight she was taking at least 4-5 steps before deciding to crawl. It's more so when she forgets what she's doing that it happens. We are very proud & her Daddy is hoping, wishing, trying to push her to be completely walking by her birthday. We'll see. We've come to the conclusion Miss Melynn does thing when SHE wants to. ( which is just fine with me)

Mississippi Visit

We went to MS over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend to visit Andys family that we hadn't seen since last May when Melynn was 3mths old! Needless to say they were very happy to see her & amazed at how much she had grown. Melynn did very well for the most part she slept most of the way down there & got her second wind @ 1230am & decided she would hang out for a while like 330am in the morning... yuck. We went over to Aunt Becky's for dinner on Saturday & Melynn played well with her cousin Gracyn. They shared puffs & baby goldfish & chairs too!
